FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Top Notch will meet with you, measure your home and proposed deck, then using AUTO CAD do a drawing of the deck for you. Once the drawing is approved Top Noch can then do a proposal based on the agreed design. If you approve the proposal the drawing can be sent to an engineer for a structural stamp. Stamped plans can then be submitted to the building department for a permit.
Pressure treated wood is the most common material used for decks because of its long life and low cost. However, it is prone to cracking, shrinking and twisting. Cedar wood, which is known for its beauty, is more expensive than pressure treated wood but because of its long-lasting properties may be less expensive in the long term. PVC composite is the most costly, but it does not have to be stained to maintain its color. It has a very long life span and does not crack. These 3 options fit a wide variety of budgets, tastes and demands.
